“Love Does Not Dishonor Others”
We tend to live for the moment rather than living for the future. We succumb to the patterns and customs of our temporary home rather than our eternal home. Live according to the accountability that not only can God see your every action, but one day you will have a spouse to give yourself to. This spouse deserves your whole heart, damages, scars, joys, and tears. They deserve your whole heart and being.
The more we fill our hearts with sex and immorality, the harder it becomes and the less of our heart we have to offer. You deserve God’s best possible mate. Give them what they deserve in return as well: all of you. Live honorably.
[Download the Bible App] This is Day 6 from the devotional, Love What Matters. This devotion has meant so much to me, especially todays. Looking back I remember seeing how hard my mother tried to instill honor into our lives. Looking back makes me want to rebuke my rebellious nature and need to learn everything my way. My parents said the same thing that now, I find myself thinking as a mom: Please, just learn from our mistakes and the knowledge that we’ve gained from those mistakes. Listen to us and allow us to save you the heartache, the regrets, the highs and the lows; be honorable and save yourself for your spouse. This isn’t a punishment, it is a blessing; this allows you to be the best you…
God, thank you for your unconditional love and your unending grace; for making a way to bridge the gap between us; for your Son, Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior of my life. I pray that Your Spirit lead me to discipline and teach our children with unconditional love and unending grace. I pray that you will surround them with your loving arms and draw them near to you. I pray that you spread your protection over them. I pray that their little hearts continue to grow to love everyone, treat everyone with respect, and to be honorable; honorable to themselves as well as others. I pray that they learn to serve You and others through our actions and truths as parents. In Your Name, I pray, let Your will be done. Amen.
With love in Christ,
Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.
