I’ve been studying a devotional called, Satan’s Lies, God’s Replies. You can find it in the free Bible App from Life.Church. There are so many thoughts that Satan will plant in our minds to cause doubt, disbelief, and sin. Have you ever said to yourself, I’m in trouble if my future depends on how perfectly I live (Day 36). God doesn’t expect perfection from us. He knows that our flesh will fail us; this is why He sent His Son to redeem us. Because of His love we are saved by grace. What God expects is our acknowledgement of our failures and asking His forgiveness; that we may be delivered from continuing in the same sins, repeatedly. In the letter that Jude wrote to all the people of Christ, you will find a Prayer of Praise: “Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into His glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.” (Jude 1:24-25). As the devotion brings to light, this scripture, this letter from Jude, is our rebuttal to any thought that God will not love us if we live an imperfect life. The truth is, if we remain in Him, He will remain in us.
Satan wants us to believe that once we have failed, God no longer wants us; He will no longer redeem us. Don’t believe his lies. God wants us as we are. If we can accept our brokenness and give it up to Him, He will welcome us home with His arms wide open ready to embrace all that we are without Him and make us brand new in Him. Stop believing the lies that you are not wanted. Stop believing that you are not loved. Stop believing that you are not enough. You are everything to God. He created you as uniquely as you are because He wanted you to be apart of His family. He loves you more than you could possibly imagine. You are enough in His eyes.
Even in the moments that we lose our way, God will guide us back. Even when we’ve hit rock bottom, God will still meet us there. He will pick us up, brush us off, and lead us back to the path He has set out for us. We are never too far gone in His eyes. We do not have to believe the lies that Satan tries to fill our minds with. He can throw our past in our faces but by God’s grace, we have overcome our past.
Sometimes we find ourselves facing consequences of this world and in the eyes of the world, we may remain unredeemable. Satan wants us to believe that in such times, we cannot come back from such a point. He may have us completely separated from our family and friends because of the choices that we’ve made; but know this, if this is you, God has never left you. In God’s eyes, we are all His children. Jesus Christ came, died, and was resurrected so that we may have eternal life. Our choice, the free will that God has bestowed upon us, is to accept His grace that has already been given to us. Satan can never take this away from us. Do not allow him to take that away from you. No matter where you are in this life, God is with you. No matter what you have done, God is waiting with arms wide open. No matter the situation you are in, God has the ability and the willingness to work everything for your good. Accept His grace. Accept His love. Accept Him ♥
With love in Christ,
