It’s Not Death, It’s Changing Addresses

Evangelist Billy Graham once stated, “Someday you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it! I shall be more alive than I am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God.”

One of the women in my life to have seen me grow from a tot through the terrible teenage years, to the woman I am today; through it all, she loved me as I was, in every season. Now it is time to let her go in the flesh; to know her only by her beautiful soul.

I’m so grateful for the times when one is certain of their eternity. Like Billy Graham, she had a heart for Christ that simply overflowed with loving encouragement for all to know. Even so, it is still a difficult obstacle to lay ones flesh to rest; my heart remains heavy. She was simply amazing with such a beautiful heart.

As a Christian, letting go of a loved one, even if only in the flesh, is still a hard hurdle to overcome. Knowing the love of God and accepting Christ as my Savior allows me to be confident that we’ll meet again one day, but even so, it’s tremendously hard to say “until next time…”

I’m grateful to know God and all that He offers. That He will comfort me and bring me peace; letting me know that I’m never alone.

It may be hard to let go but I know that she is full of life in the Heavens above us.

Thank you for all the love that poured through you. The light of Christ that shone through you will never be diminished. I can see your smile from Heaven with that gleam in your eyes. You know me well enough to remember that I’m terrible with goodbyes. So for now, we’ll simply send our letters to Heaven and say, until next time, Dot

With Love in Christ,

Bekah
